I am a 74 years old, a retired carpenter. I am married to Valerie, a
second marriage. We live in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA. . I have been doing
genealogy over thirty years but the  computer has allowed me to
accomplish more in the last four years than the thirty years prior. Most of my Cornish ancestors came from the Bodmin Moor area and the area between Zennor and Penzance and I have been able to trace their descendants (my cousins) to places around the world, beyond my wildest imagination!! This site has played a major role in accomplishing this.

My Great Grandfather Joseph COREY (CORY) came to the US in 1888 with his wife Hannah (FAULL). Joseph was born 14 Feb 1858 at St. Cleer, Cornwall. The FAULLs were also from St. Cleer. Joseph's parents were John and Jane. Jane's maiden name was also CORY, a cousin to John. John was born in Laneast, Cornwall and Jane at Davidstow, Cornwall. John's parents were Benjamin and Grace (BRAY) CORY. Benjamin from Davidstow, Cornwall and Grace from Alternun, Cornwall.

 

My grandfather Joseph CORY then married a second time in the USA to Jemima TREWHELLA of Towednack, Cornwall who had emigrated to Pennsylvania. It is from this marriage that I descend. This Trewhella line links up with many of the familiar Cornish family names such as Uren, Glasson, Pearce, Nickless/ Nicholls/Nicholas, Friggens, Hosking, Hockin, Davy, Cock, Lembry, Roberts, Phillips, Harris, Lembry, Painter, Boswin, Quick,  Baragwanath, Angold, Whita, Michell, Mitchell, Harry, Eddy, Curnow, Richards, etc. in the Madron, Zennor, Ludgvan, Gulval, Uny Lelant, Phillack, Gwithian, Hayle and Towednack Parish's.

I have the research pretty well done for John and Benjamin's Cory
families except I do not know where or when John and Jane died or are
buried.

 

I am open to receiving and sharing information about all of these families now scattered through out the world. I would also enjoy hearing from any distant cousins.
