My great grandparents, John
MOYLE, stonemason, and Elizabeth SPARGO married at Mabe in 1853 and disembarked in Melbourne on 22 February 1854. My main genealogical interest has been researching the lives and times of my
MOYLE ancestors who lived at Mabe, Wendron and Helston, back to the John
MOYLE who appeared in the 1337 Caption of Seisin at Helston. I have also done some work on the, I think, unconnected
MOYLEs of Bake. My current interest is identifying the ancestry of Edward
MOYLE, born at Wendron in 1760 and transported on the First Fleet to Port Jackson, son I think, of Richard
MOYLE and Charity PRISK. I haven't yet established a family link with Edward, at least since the mid-18th century.
I am a retired banker, more recently company director and farmer in the Yarra Valley outside Melbourne, and now completely retired. Judy and I sold up, moved to the NSW coast south of Sydney. on Jervis Bay where my interests remain family, genealogy, reading, rugby and swimming.
