I live in Toorak, Victoria,
Australia my ancestors John Maddern and his wife Patience
Warren left St. Buryan, Cornwall in 1849 bound first to
South Australia and then on to Geelong, Victoria,
Australia. Another ancestor William Maddern and wife
Phillis Maddern also emigrated in 1849 from St. Buryan to
Geelong, Phillis was the daughter of John Maddern &
Patience Warren, so when she married William she didn't
have to even change her surname! When I find time from my career in education I enjoy, art, history, reading, gardening and last but not least family history. If anyone needs help researching in Victoria, Australia, I am prepared to offer help. |
