My name is Jeremy Rowett Johns and
I am the webmaster for the Polperro community website in
Cornwall:

My family originally came from Polperro and I have
written and broadcast on Polperro's history and smuggling
past for many years. My titles include Polperro's
Smuggling Story and The Smugglers' Banker. I also set up
the Polperro Heritage Press in association with the
Polperro Heritage Museum in 1995, specialising in
publishing non-fiction work by local authors.
My background is in journalism and broadcasting,
including working for the BBC until 1999.
The Polperro website has a special section devoted to the
genealogy of the area, including the parishes of Talland
and Lansallos. A Polperro Families database has been set
up, containing details of more than 4,000 related
individuals. Families include: A'Lee, Barrett, Braddon,
Bunt, Congdon, Couch, Curtis, Forward, George, Hicks,
Hocken, Job, Holten, Johns, Jolliff, Langmaid, Skinner,
Libby, Mark, Minards, Oliver, Perry, Puckey, Quiller,
