In genealogical circles I am known as Jean Richards
Timmermeister, I include my maiden name 'Richards' to show my Cornish interests, in day- to -day life I am the very German sounding Jean Timmermeister. I moved to the city of Spokane Valley in Washington state, USA, in November of 2005 but I am a native of Seattle on the West side of the state. I am retired & share my home with my
Cornish Rex cat, Philippa. I have raised bonsai (trees) for over 40 years; I am a serious color photographer, both film and digital and show my work in area galleries. I volunteer in the Photographic Society of America as its national Publication Vice President working with an Editor to produce a monthly Journal.; I also work as a volunteer in the Canadian Association for Photographic Art and have been honored by both organizations. I photographed over 200 parish churches when I was researching in Cornwall for clients. I was the founding President of Pacific Northwest Cornish Society (member #003) and an original member of Cornwall Family History Society (member #00163) as well as of the Cornish American Heritage Society. I taught genealogy for many years but my main interest is my own Cornish ancestry. My Richards family includes my grandfather's brother that survived the sinking of the Lusitania with his wife and children. I have a special interest in the final crossing of the Lusitania (1915) and also of Cornish nicknames and aliases from earliest parish records of the Duchy. |
