My main hobby is family history, along with gardening and keeping tropical fish. I worked in the tinplate industry for 34 years and retired (early) in 1996. I have been researching my family for over 20 years and have many lines in the area around West Penwith and some going out quite a bit further in Cornwall. My great grandparents were from Sancreed and St. Just and came to South Wales about 1864. Most of this line still live in this area. Some of my family names are: WHITE, WEYMOUTH, GRENFELL, HICKS, ANGWIN, BETTESWORTH, MADDERN, DENNIS, HOCKING, VEALE,REMPHREY,BADCOCK, WOOLCOCK, COCK,CHENHALLS, OATS, WILLIAMS and quite a few more. I would be more than happy to share details on any of these lines. |
